Privacy policy

How Interpretica collects, uses and protects personal data on interpretica.io, under the GDPR.

Last updated: 27 October 2026.

This policy explains what personal data Interpretica collects through the website interpretica.io and its language versions, why, and what rights you have. It follows Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is:

Interpretica, Unipessoal Lda
NIPC 517916924
Av. da Liberdade, 262, 2.º Esq.
1250-149 Lisboa, Portugal
Email: info@interpretica.io

Interpretica has not appointed a data protection officer, because the law does not require one for a company of its size and activity. Write to info@interpretica.io with any question about this policy or your data.

What we collect and why

DataPurposeLegal basisHow long we keep it
Contact form and "Request access" or pilot form: name, email, company (if you give it), message, the plan you chose To answer your request and, if you ask, to prepare an offer Steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)) 24 months after our last exchange. If the request leads to a contract, for as long as the law requires us to keep contract records
Midair waitlist: email and, if you give it, name To tell you by email when Midair becomes generally available and to send you information about that release Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) Until we send the release notice, or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first
Emails you send us, for example to info@interpretica.io To answer you Our legitimate interest in answering correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f)) 24 months after our last exchange
Job applications and CVs sent to team@interpretica.io To assess your application for a current or future role Steps you ask for before an employment contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) 6 months after the end of the selection, unless you agree to a longer period
Server logs: IP address, date and time, requested page, referring page, browser type To run the site, keep it secure and find errors Our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f)) 14 days
Analytics: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location from the IP address, device and browser type, set only if you accept analytics cookies To count visits and learn which pages are useful Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 5 of Portuguese Law 41/2004) 14 months in Google Analytics. The cookies expire after 2 years

For the forms, name and email are required. Without them we cannot answer you or tell you about the release. All other fields are optional.

We do not use your data for automated decisions or profiling. We do not sell your data and we do not give it to advertisers.

Cookies and browser storage

The site sets no cookies until you make a choice in the cookie banner.

  • If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_PSSTCE74X2. They hold a random identifier and expire after 2 years.
  • If you reject analytics, the site loads no analytics code and sets no cookies.
  • The site stores your choice in your browser's local storage under the key ip-consent, so that the banner does not appear on every page. This entry is needed for the site to respect your choice and does not need consent.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the site removes the analytics cookies.

Some blog posts contain a video from YouTube. The site shows a placeholder image first and loads the video from youtube-nocookie.com only when you click it. From that moment Google receives your IP address and the YouTube privacy policy applies.

Fonts, images and scripts are served from interpretica.io itself, so loading a page does not send your IP address to other companies.

Who receives your data

We use these service providers. Each one processes data for us under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

  • DigitalOcean, LLC: hosts the website. The server is in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Interpretica's own servers (intranet.interpretica.io): receive and store the form data. They are operated by Interpretica in the European Union.
  • Google Ireland Limited: email (Google Workspace) for info@interpretica.io, team@interpretica.io and the release notice, and Google Analytics if you accept it.

Links to LinkedIn, Instagram, X and GitHub are plain links. They send no data until you click them. Community discussions on GitHub Discussions happen on GitHub under GitHub's own privacy statement; GitHub is a separate controller there.

We give data to public authorities only when the law obliges us to.

Transfers outside the European Union

The website and the form data stay in the European Union. Google may process email and analytics data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission found to give adequate protection (Art. 45 GDPR). Google also uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict how we use your data;
  • object to processing that is based on our legitimate interest;
  • receive the data you gave us in a common machine-readable format (data portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time. This does not make earlier processing unlawful.

To use a right, write to info@interpretica.io from the email address the request is about. If we cannot confirm who you are from that, we will ask for one more piece of information, and only what we need. We answer within one month. For complex requests the law lets us extend this by two more months; if we do, we tell you why within the first month.

To leave the Midair waitlist, write to the same address or use the link in any release email.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt. You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Children

The site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, the age Portuguese Law 58/2019 sets for consent to online services. If you think a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects the waitlist, we tell the people on it by email.
